Hippopotamus Tanja is etched in the memories of many Amsterdammers. She is beloved and deeply missed. After her death in 2009, hundreds of drawings and poems were left at her former enclosure. She is an icon, and without a doubt, the most famous hippo in Amsterdam. During Museum Night at ARTIS-Groote Museum, you’ll dive into the ever-evolving relationship between humans and animals one that is as complex as it is dynamic.
