Planetary Health and The Symbiotic City

Why is this important?

More than half of the world's population lives in cities, a number expected to rise to 70% by 2050. Cities are hot, polluted, and vulnerable—but they also offer opportunities. Green spaces can boost biodiversity, social cohesion, and mental health. What is needed to create symbiotic cities, where both human and nonhuman communities can thrive? This course explores how urban planning, nature, and health can work together to make cities livable for all forms of life.
