What lies beneath the water?

At Micropia, there are two aquariums. At first glance, it looks like ordinary water… but looks can be deceiving! Take a look through the microscopes and discover the hidden world within the water.

Opening of the new ARTIS-Aquarium

The Aquarium is filling up again

The new Aquarium will open on 13 June 2026. ARTIS is currently working on the final phase: the return of underwater life and the creation of a new visitor experience centred around the importance of water. Will you take a look?

Sustainable objectives

ARTIS uses a lot of water. The ponds, the water features in animal enclosures, the plants, and the animals all need water. To halve its tap water use, ARTIS collects rainwater.
