Night at the Aquarium
As evening falls, a different world comes to life beneath the water. Discover which animals become active after dark, venture into the mysterious deep sea, and immerse yourself in the life beneath the surface. From up close to far below the waves, discover how water connects all life on Earth.
The universe has time (you don’t)
The future of Earth is looking bright! Hundreds of thousands of new satellites will orbit our planet, freeing us from inconveniences such as natural starlight. And you can forget about the Moon, too: eventually, it will go its own way. And our star, the Sun? In a few billion years, it will become our immediate, searingly bright neighbour. Until, of course, it eventually swallows the Earth whole.
Dance with the invisible life in Micropia
During Museum Night at ARTIS-Micropia, the microscopic world comes to life on a larger-than-life scale. On giant microscope images, ciliates and other microscopic creatures move gracefully across the screen. DJ and choreographer Feadan draws inspiration from their extraordinary movements and, together with you, transforms them into a true ode to microbes.
