A low-stimulation visit to Micropia

Discover Micropia at a quiet time. On Thursday 8 October, the museum will be open especially for visitors who benefit from a less stimulating environment. During this evening, there will be fewer visitors, and the lighting, sound and other aspects of the museum will be adjusted.

For who is this low-stimulation evening intended?

The low-stimulation evening is intended for visitors aged 13 and older for whom a museum visit during regular opening hours is simply not possible due to sensory overload. You can come alone or with someone else. Do you need a companion to visit Micropia? If so, that companion can join you for free, under certain conditions.

What can you expect?

During the low-stimulation evening, various adjustments are made to make the visit calmer and more predictable:

  • few visitors and no young children
  • the large LED screens and background music are turned off
  • there is more lighting in the museum
  • staff and volunteers are prepared for the low-stimulation evening
  • you can borrow a small stool at the ticket counter
  • there is a quiet room where you can temporarily retreat
  • you are welcome to bring your own sensory-regulating aids
  • you must reserve a time slot in advance. Time slots start every 15 minutes. The last time slot is at 8:00 p.m.
