Connective tissue The void
The Groote Museum is divided into zones. Discover here what there is to see and experience in the zone about the connective tissue.
Is doing nothing unproductive? Let things rest, let go for a bit, sleep on it. If you stuff every minute of the day, you’ll smother all your musings and daydreams, and you’re headed for burnout.
By doing nothing: lazing about, playing and sleeping, you create space for new ideas. A fresh look. A clean slate. Nothing can grow without space. Imagine a vast network with all kinds of vital hubs. It is in the empty spaces in between where new connections are made.

Wood wide web
The empty space between trees is an illusion. The roots gradually transform into a network of fungal threads.
Grape without fruit?
If you were to remove the pulp and juice from a grapefruit, the connective tissue and shell of the fruit becomes beautifully visible.
Relax to flex
To take action, you have to make space, sometimes literally. Like when you yawn. When you yawn, you pull out all the muscles around your airways for a few seconds to reset and thus properly combat your breathing. To make space for your muscles to stretch, connective tissue is needed. This creates space between them. Only when there is empty space, there is space to move.
The void by Min Kim
Turn the wheel and experience the continuous filling and emptying of the balloon. The artist invites you into the space of your own breath. Exhale, inhale, exhale. A simple act and yet probably the most unknown territory. To touch one’s own breath is a real journey to the interiority of one’s being.
