Thank God it's FRIDAY! The promise of the weekend hangs in the air on that last day of the working week. When Koen Brouwer and Quinten Huigen hung up their successful careers and chose to pursue their musical dream, the name was obvious. After all, giving up all certainties and embracing the ultimate feeling of freedom, every day felt like a Friday, so that had to be the name. 

Koen and Quinten have been close friends for 14 years. They grant each other the world, go through fire for each other. From their first meeting in 2010 at the Conservatorium in Amsterdam, they complement each other both personally and musically, precisely because of their mutual differences. Quinten has a background in guitar and jazz and deals with chords, lyrics and harmony, while Koen loves pure pop and is the man of melodies and production. Yet there are plenty of similarities: both are frontmen, they front the stage together. And they have both been involved in music for a long time, including playing with befriended bands at home and abroad.

But the idea of their own band kept beckoning. To crown their friendship and shared love of music, Koen and Quinten founded the band FRIDAY. In 2022, they released debut album “2 degrees”, which has generated 10 million streams to date. Debut single “21” was immediately bombed as NPO Radio 2 Topsong.
