  • ARTIS-Micropia

Discover during the Weekend of Science how easy it is to grow your own food, right in your own kitchen.

Did you know? Oyster mushrooms are true recycling champions!

Weekend of Science

At ARTIS-Micropia you can become an oyster mushroom grower for a day. In this 30-minute workshop you will learn how to cultivate oyster mushrooms using items you would normally throw away: coffee grounds and an empty milk carton.

What will you do?

Oyster mushrooms are edible fungi that don’t need soil or a garden, just a little moisture, air and care. Step by step, you will create your own growing kit to take home. Before you know it, you’ll be harvesting your own home-grown oyster mushrooms. And who knows – you might just become a budding mycologist (fungus expert)!
