About 200 employees work for Artis. There are also over 130 volunteers, and every department has traineeships for students from all sorts of study programmes.

The organisational structure of Artis consists of the following clusters: animal & plant, public and infrastructure. There are also a number of staff departments. Each cluster is divided into several specialised groups.
