Artis relies on visitors for support. There are many ways to help us, for example by making a donation or adopting an animal. This will provide us with the funds we need to take care of our plants and animals, maintain our beautiful grounds and buildings and launch nature-related and environmental education projects.

Donations and other revenues are primarily used in caring for the animals and maintaining their habitats. Artis was established in 1838 and is one of the oldest zoos on the mainland of Europe. There are always renovations to be done in a historic park like Artis.
