HOW DO I REPORT A CHANGE IN ADDRESS?
By sending an e-mail to leden@artis.nl, or sending a letter to our postal address. If you are reporting a change of address, always include your membership number and both your old address and your new address.
HOW LONG DOES MY ARTIS MEMBERSHIP LAST?
A membership is valid for 365 days after the purchase date (payment date). The proof of purchase states the end date of the membership. For more information, see the special membership page.
HOW DO I RENEW MY ARTIS MEMBERSHIP?
The membership is valid for one year and is automatically renewed for another year unless it is cancelled. You will receive a letter beforehand notifying you that it will be renewed. You can pay by internet banking or automatic direct debit. If you use an internet banking service, don’t forget to state your membership number in your payment reference. You can also renew your membership at the ticket desk.
WHAT ABOUT THE PROOF OF PURCHASE AND THE GUEST COUPONS?
Every year, once your membership is renewed, you will receive a new proof of purchase and the guest coupons associated with that year’s membership. The guest coupons allow you to bring along 2 adults or 4 children aged 3-9 years to Artis for free. After you use up the coupons, you will receive a discount when you purchase a maximum of four extra admission tickets. Unused guest coupons can be saved and used later. Please note: these are NOT free tickets; the guest coupons are only valid if the Artis member also goes along to Artis. Besides the guest coupons for Artist, you also receive 2 free admission tickets to Antwerp Zoo/Planckendael. You can also visit Rotterdam Zoo (Diergaarde Blijdorp), Burgers’ Zoo and Emmen Zoo for half-price when you show your Artis membership card and your proof of purchase.
I DID NOT RECEIVE THE ARTIS MAGAZINE BY POST; WHY NOT?
The Artis magazine is published four times a year (as per 2010). It is possible that we do not have your correct name and address on record. The fastest way to find out is by e-mailing leden@artis.nl or dropping by the ticket desk on your next visit to check your details.
I WOULD LIKE TO PAY BY AUTOMATIC DIRECT-DEBIT; IS THAT POSSIBLE?
Absolutely. You can either fill out a form at the ticket desk or send an e-mail to leden@artis.nl stating that you give Artis permission to debit the membership fee from your account automatically. As with a payment slip, you will receive a letter beforehand notifying you that your membership will be renewed. As soon as the payment has been collected, the proof of purchase will be sent to you.
HOW DO I CANCEL MY ARTIS MEMBERSHIP?
Membership can only be cancelled in writing (by post or by an e-mail sent to leden@artis.nl) no later than four weeks before the end of your current membership year. Please state the membership number and specify whose membership you are cancelling. We would also like to hear why you have chosen to cancel your membership. If a cancellation is not received in time, the membership will be renewed again. In that case, you can cancel your membership at the end of the following membership year. You will always receive written confirmation of your cancellation. If you have not received written confirmation of your cancellation within two weeks, please contact us.
I CANCELLED MY MEMBERSHIP, BUT I STILL RECEIVED A PAYMENT SLIP. WHY?
It is possible that the payment slip was sent before the cancellation was received. If you have already received confirmation of cancellation from us, you can ignore the payment slip. If you have not received written confirmation of your cancellation within two weeks, please contact us.
WILL I GET A NEW ARTIS MEMBERSHIP CARD WHEN I RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP?
No, you will not receive a new membership card. We will make sure that the current membership card is reactivated for the coming year.
I LOST MY ARTIS MEMBERSHIP CARD. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
If your card was stolen, you can bring the police report to the Artis ticket desk and receive a duplicate free of charge. If you lost your card, you can go to the Artis ticket desk and buy a replacement card for 5 euros.
I RECEIVED A LETTER WITH A PAYMENT SLIP ATTACHED, BUT I ALREADY RENEWED MY MEMBERSHIP. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
If you recently renewed your membership at the Artis ticket desk, the letter may have been sent before the payment was processed. In that case, you clearly do not have to do anything and can ignore the letter. It is also possible that the letter was sent before your payment, in which case you can also ignore the letter.
HOW DO I REPORT CHANGES IN MY ARTIS MEMBERSHIP?
Has your family situation changed, or do you have questions or comments about your membership? Please report any changes in writing to ensure that they will be processed quickly; state your name, address, post code and Artis membership number.
DO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF THREE YEARS ALSO RECEIVE THEIR OWN CARD?
Yes, we want to register all our visitors. Children under the age of three can get into Artis for free, but they also receive their own Artis card. The card can be obtained from the ticket desk free of charge. The cards show various pictures of popular animals that live in Artis. Until recently, children aged 0-2 years also needed to have a ticket or membership card, but admission was not strictly monitored. The entrance is more closely monitored now, because Artis needs to keep track of the total number of visitors that enter the zoo. Artis receives its subsidy based on visitor numbers; this infant membership is an opportunity for you to make an extra contribution to Artis. You can also choose to pick up a day ticket from the ticket desk every time you visit, if you prefer.
MY CHILD WILL BE TURNING THREE THIS YEAR. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Your child can be added to your family membership. The child’s card will expire on the expiry date of the main member’s card. The next time you visit Artis, drop by the ticket desk with the child to take his or her photo for the personal membership card.
