CAN I BRING ALONG MY DOG OR OTHER PET?
No, sorry. No dogs or other pets are allowed into the zoo. The animals that live at Artis are in principle wild animals. Most of them are not tame at all and will panic at the sight or smell of unfamiliar dogs and/or other pets. That means that guide dogs for the visually impaired are also not allowed to enter Artis. A visually impaired visitor to Artis is therefore allowed to bring along one companion free of charge. Some other zoos or parks may be able to allow dogs to enter, either because they do not have highly sensitive animals, or because visitors cannot get as close to the animals as they can in Artis.

CAN I SUPPORT ARTIS?
Yes, by becoming an Artis member or giving an Artis membership as a gift, advertising in Artis magazine, arranging for your company to adopt an animal, or supporting Artis with a (tax-deductible) donation or legacy. You can read more about it at Care for Artis.
CAN ARTIS SUPPORT ME, FOR EXAMPLE BY SPONSORING ME OR GIVING ME FREE ADMISSION TICKETS?
We receive similar requests almost every week, but are not able to grant them. As an institution sponsored – in part – by the government, the business community and private individuals, we do not consider it appropriate to use their contributions to support third parties. We sometimes make exceptions for specific nature conservation projects.
CAN I INTERVIEW THE DIRECTOR OF ARTIS?
Requests to interview Artis personnel are handled by the communication department.ARE THERE ANIMALS TO SEE IN THE WINTER?Most of the animals are simply outside as usual. In addition, Artis has many well-heated buildings that are quite comfortable all winter – for animals and for people.
CAN I SEE HOW IT ALL WORKS BEHIND THE SCENES?
Groups are allowed to see some aspects of how the zoo works in our guided tours. Unfortunately, we cannot grant individual requests to see behind the scenes of the zoo. Our animals need their rest.
CAN I TALK TO A ZOOKEEPER?
You can talk to our zookeepers during your visit, or ask questions during the scheduled ‘Zookeeper talks’. Our zookeepers are busy taking care of the animals and do not have time to give interviews.
COULD I HELP TAKE CARE OF THE ANIMALS SOMETIME?
No, only our own qualified zookeepers are allowed to care for the animals. We receive many, many requests to help care for the animals. If we granted such requests, it would cause too much stress for the animals.
HOW MUCH DOES AN ADMISSION TICKET COST?

HOW LONG IS MY ADMISSION TICKET VALID?
All admission tickets have an expiration date. After that date has passed, it is no longer possible to renew or replace those tickets. E-tickets and Albert Heijn tickets are valid for one year after the purchase date.
